Director Tamara Kotevksa (Honeyland) & cinematographer Jean Dakar discuss their new documentary The Tale of Silyan, a story about a Macedonian farmer’s bond with an injured white stork. In this interview, the filmmakers discuss how they were able to film so intimately with both their human and bird subjects, achieving a cinematic look in documentary, and the negative impact of consumerism on small communities as well as nature.
