Welcome to ROLL FILM! a weekly look at the newest movie releases. This week we have: The 5th Wave, Dirty Grandpa, and The Boy!

The 5th Wave

"Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother."

Like a kid wearing Heelys a decade late, this addition to the "Young Adult Dystopian" genre does nothing to pump it up.

Dirty Grandpa

Dan Mazer (Director)

Right before his wedding, an uptight guy is tricked into driving his grandfather, a perverted former Army Lieutenant-Colonel "Special Forces" to Florida for spring break.

The vulgarity from DeNiro is surprising enough to satisfy those that love raunchy comedies, but it does run out quick. Trying to mix Super Troopers with a love story by the end, makes you wish you were watching Bad Grandpa instead.

The Boy

William Brent Bell

An American nanny is shocked that her new English family's boy is actually a life-sized doll. After violating a list of strict rules, disturbing events make her believe that the doll is really alive.

From the director of The Devil Inside. This film serves a better purpose as a coaster for your drink, than actually being watched.
